Two well-known names from Hellendoorn will be joining forces. Avonturenpark Hellendoorn and the Eurol Hellendoorn Rally are going to support each other in a way never seen before. This year, the service park of the Eurol Hellendoorn Rally will be located at the parking lot of theme park Avonturenpark Hellendoorn.
This all fits in with the ambition of the new board of the Hellendoorn Rally organisation to give the Netherlands’ most famous rally more prestige at home and abroad to offer the participants an appealing event, like in the 80s and 90s when ‘Hellendoorn’ was part of the European Rally Championship.
In the past years, the service park of the Eurol Hellendoorn Rally was located at the business park in Nijverdal. This cooperation between Avonturenpark Hellendoorn has led to the choice to relocate the service park to the parking lot of the theme park. Hellendoorn Rally chairman Theo Engels: “On 16 and 17 September 2022 we have no less than 15,000 square metres at our disposal. So there is plenty of room to accommodate the participating teams. The mechanics of the teams will be able to do their work here undisturbed with the keen interest of the rally fans who will again be welcome to the service park this year.”
Tim Golstein, director of Avonturenpark Hellendoorn said: “The Eurol Hellendoorn Rally is a unique event. It is great that we as Avonturenpark can contribute to this and that two well-known names strengthen each other in this way.”
Rally square “Rallyplein”
New this year is the Rally Square, which will be located close to the service park and accommodates activities for young and old. The Eurol Hellendoorn Rally will be a real experience for the whole family which fits well with the philosophy of Avonturenpark Hellendoorn!
Anniversary edition on 16 and 17 September
This year’s Eurol Hellendoorn Rally on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 September will be an anniversary edition as the event celebrates its 40th edition. A milestone that the organisation doesn’t want to let pass unnoticed. Moreover, the rally will be a two-day event again as Covid-19 measures restricted the event last year to one-day. Chairman Theo Engels: “Expect more info about the 2022 rally in the near future.”
